Follower Feature #3 & Blog Award

It's time for the third Follower Feature at WhisperWood Cottage! What is a Follower Feature? Well, it's my way of saying thank you to the people who follow my blog (you can see them in their little teeny pictures in the left-hand column). If you missed features 1 & 2, you can read all about them here: Follower Feature #1; Follower Feature #2. So now we are ready for...

WhisperWood Cottage's Featured Followers #11-15:

The Rusty Cupboard

She's a quilter, an antiquer, and a family woman! She's currently working on a yoyo quilt. I had never heard of that before! The photo at the left is of the antique store that she and her daughter started in Idaho.

SweetMelissa@JunkFest

A true junker at heart...I think we can all relate to that!! :) Along with three of her friends, she hosts JunkFest...coming up Sept. 12, 2009, in Carrington, ND!

She says, "Who is a JunkGirl? To have the vision to use a glimmer of imagination to breathe new life into an unloved, forgotten piece of something...that used to be something, and give it a new reason, a re-newed purpose to find a place and a home. And to be fearless enough to use power tools. That is a Junk Girl."
SuzeeeZ's Home Sweet Home Tranquil Garden

I just discovered that SuzeeeZ has an etsy store! If you like vintage jewelry, ephemera, handmade creations, and miniatures, you should visit! And her blog has post after post of dollhouse miniatures!

Gretchen@Mimi-Toria's Designs

I met Gretchen last winter when she and I hit the Carver Occasional Sales with our friend, Lani@Cottage Elements. She's a Minnesota gal with a heart of vintage costume jewelry! You should see what fabulous jewelry designs she creates from vintage and found treasures! She sells from her blog as well as at the French Flea Occasional Market in Anoka, MN.

Denise@Vintage Gardens

Denise takes the most amazing photos of her garden and outdoor scenes! One of my favorite recent posts were of these nature collages she put together from photos over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful, Denise!

I recently received an award from Sandi@Dad's Tackle Box. Thanks, Sandi! As part of this award, I need to list seven things about myself. I'm guessing they should be somewhat interesting things, so that puts me in awkward position. Come on, Amy, think interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Hmmm...well let's give it a go...
  1. I collect Waterford Crystal. I have a few special signed pieces of the Millennium collection I picked up in Ireland years ago. The rest of my pieces are from the Marquis collection...most of which I picked up at TJMaxx over the years. I just found two great bowls at Goodwill. Can you believe it?
  2. I keep an inspiration file. I tear out favorite pages from magazines that capture a look, feeling, or piece that I love. I keep only what I love and recycle the rest of the pages. It's easy to see my decorating style when I look through those pages. I also keep one for my personal clothing style.
  3. I am an HGTV and Style Network junkie. Decorating Sense, HGTV Design Star, Clean House, The Stagers, etc. Love, love, love!
  4. I am Sarah@A Beach Cottage's biggest fan. No, not a stalker, but a genuine fan of her decorating style, writing style, design style, and overall talent. Can't say enough! I hope to meet her in person some day. Australia is one of those places I'd love to visit! P.S. She also has a second blog of inspiring photos. It's her electronic version of an inspiration file. Fabulous!
  5. I am a borderline introvert/extrovert. If you've ever taken the Myers-Briggs, you know what I'm talking about. Introvert and extrovert refers to what energizes you. I need a balance of the two...being alone and being with others. I feel drained or out-of-sorts when I get too much or not enough of one or the other.
  6. I lived in Texas for 5 years. That's why I have a special place in my heart for my fellow Texan junkers and friends. Other than those 5 years, I've always lived in the Midwest.
  7. I absolutely adore my husband! He's handsome, handy, brilliant, hard-working, trustworthy, and all kinds of other good qualities! I'm glad to say he's my best friend. He ranks up there among special husbands such as Cat Daddy!
I hope you found those things interesting! I thought it would be appropriate to pass this award on to all the blogger's mentioned above...the five featured bloggers plus Lani and Sarah. Here's what you need to do award winners!

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs, letting them know they have been nominated.

  3. That was a great read! Learned a little more about you and what makes you run. I am looking forward to going over and checking out all the ladies you have mentioned. I'd say that's high praise coming from you, so naturally I have to go take a peek. I figured someone as great as you had bagged her own cat daddy. Too bad there aren't more to go around...or am I?
