WhisperWood Cottage Kitchen...the DURING and AFTER photos...

I
could NOT wait for STAGE 2 of the kitchen makeover to get started. Once it started, I wondered if it would ever end!! The painting of the cabinets seemed endless! Three coats total...1 primer coat and 2 paint coats for each cabinet and cabinet door. After comparing the before photos in STAGE 1 with the photos below, the painting was definitely worth it!

STAGE 2...January 2007
  • painting cabinets and trim white
  • replacing gold plastic hardware with brushed nickel hardware
  • adding beadboard to the center island
  • adding beadboard to the back of the glass-front upper cabinets
  • adding lights to the glass-front upper cabinets
  • adding crown molding to cabinets
  • installing a new light fixture above the island

And if you are wondering about the grainy photos, this project happened during the pre-digital SLR and pre-blogging days here at WWC.

  8. Well done!

Too bad the cabinets are not more centered on the wall - you wouldn't have to reach so high, and you might use the top of the cabinets for some up-lighting or storage. Nevertheless, you have a Fabulous result!

    Enjoy it!
