Simplifying

I really feel the need to simplify things lately. My decor, my home, my life. It can easily become so overwhelming, can't it? As I am physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually clearing out the clutter and freshening my thoughts, words, and actions, I find that it is both a struggle and a joy.

I find that I have things that are just difficult to let go of even thought they are merely taking up space in my home, my mind, and my heart. They eat my time, energy, and creativity without giving anything back. Do you know what I am talking about?

So, it's time to "make a round."

Clean out the cobwebs.

Shed light in dark, neglected corners.

Give it all a clean sweep.

And start anew.

  2. But oh where do you start?! I am desperate to do that and yet the task is so mind bogglingly huge and filled with emotional mine fields I keep putting it of for another week!!!!
Some days I wonder should I just have a huge clearing sale and then start again!

  3. This happens to me every year at this time. Your space looks great, with a minimalist yet beautifully junky feel.
can't wait to see what you will do.

  4. I like spending the week between Christmas and New Year's "making the round." I like to clean up, organize, purge, etc. to start the new year off fresh and ready. (Love that star!)

  5. Amen! This is exactly what I aim for this year! Last year was so overwhelming for me and I lost site of all things important. My goal this year is to do just that...simplify! I have already started donating, purging things out this week and it feels good!! The emotional side may take a while, but I am working on it!! :)
