Tole Chandeliers Can Be Mean: DIY Conflict Resolution

We're on step 5 of the studio makeover! Just joining us? Catch up on the whole studio makeover process. We started with the vintage medical cabinets, then added the tole chandelier, brought in a coat rack crafted from a vintage door & wire hooks, and crafted vertical storage out of vintage wire baskets and an antique ladder.

The centerpiece of the room is this vintage tole chandelier in cream, yellow, and green tones. You saw it go up here. Even from underneath, it has great details! But don't let its beauty fool you! This chandy is not so innocent! It has a sassy mean streak!

We ended up hanging it up higher than I originally had planned. Why? After it hit me in the head with those metal prongs about three times in five minutes, it was either lift it up or tear it down! :) That tole takes a toll on your head! Ouch!! Yes, I cried. DIY can be that way, y'know. It's okay now. We've worked out our differences. :)

Now, see that space behind it? Up above the closet? Something must be done! Something simple, yes, but what? Don't worry! I've got it covered! The answer coming up next!

  4. With beauty comes a little pain. Now if you were like me...there'd never be a danger of hitting your head...only stumping your toe! Sometimes being short is a good thing!!!
