Did you hear? There's another big snow storm on the way...at least in Minnesota. Say it isn't so! Another snow storm means the delay of spring cleaning, spray painting, and garage sale/flea market season here in the north. I guess if you live here, you know that winter does not end in March (and sometimes April) without a fight. So bring on the snow! It means we're one day closer to the warmer weather and those garage sale finds.
The tray you saw yesterday in the Stenciled Tape Candle Wrap project post was a garage sale find from a few years ago. It was a great $1 investment. The lady selling it was very quick to say that her ex-husband used to have it on his boat and that he didn't know she was selling it. Oops! My apologies to the former boat & tray owner! I imagine this is not the first or last item sold under such circumstances.
Despite the circumstances, this great little gem needed a home. With the chrome details and perfectly aged wood, it fits right in among the vintage and industrial pieces at WWC. I think the simple fact that it was used on a boat created nautical connections in my mind. It generally comes out during the spring and summer months to hold books and summery details in a simple display.
L.O.V.E. these corners! And look...the best part is that it folds up!...perfect for storage when not in use. I love unexpected features like this!!
Ever wonder the stories and histories of your garage sale finds? Are you ready for the new garage sale and flea market season?
