JUNK-INSPIRED WORKOUT ROOM
FLASH CARDS
I know lots of you junkers have old flash cards lying around! I picked up a box of hundreds of spelling flash cards last summer (pre-blogging days) at a garage sale. When I asked the woman how much they were, she said, "You can just have them." Gasp! She was a retired school teacher and I thanked her profusely!
I went through each card with the intention to find words that related to fitness, health, and/or movement. I found several, put them in a frame I already had, and there you have it...inspirational wall art for the workout room...

Also note my favorite quote..."Life is not about finding yourself. It is about creating yourself." Love, love, love that! The power of choice...talk about empowering!
Oh, and that is the antique dental stool I picked up at Oronoco Gold Rush Days. You can read about it (and my other finds) in my August post called "Oronoco Flow."
METAL SHELVING, VINTAGE WEIGHTS, WORKOUT SIGN
You know it doesn't end there, right? I've got a few more ideas for you! This $3.00 rack was from a family-run estate sale last summer as well. It holds my hand weights, towels, and other items. See those 1-lb wooden dumbbells on the center shelf? Just a little vintage swank to add to the mix!

I also can't forget the "WORKOUT WITH THE EXPERTS" sign. For 25 cents, I couldn't pass it up!

If you work out half as hard as you did in creating your workout room, you will be in good shape! Very inspirational!!!

I love this! What a great idea!! Can't leave the workout room out of the junkin' deco!
ReplyDeleteI love the signs. All of them. And the flashcards. I'm not sure I'd work out in there...but, I'd sure enjoy my time in there somehow! haha ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteThis I love!!! The dumbbells are great. I thought about adding working out to my to do list but I figure why add to my angst. Besides, where's the joy? I'm content with what I've created(for the time being). I can't believe you got that one sign for a quarter! You really are the queen of good deals. Debbie
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome use of the flashcards! And I like the other signs too!
ReplyDeleteLove that you've carried junkin' into your workout room. The only thing missing is Mindy's "thunder thighs" statue as motivation...and an old Suzanne Sommers' thighmaster!!

A QUARTER! I'll give you fifty cents for that sign. I need it! I need it!
ReplyDeleteDid you hear about the terrible helicopter wreck here at your old school? Nasty, nasty, nasty.
The Texas Woman
You have some of the coolest stuff! Do you actually use the wooden dumb bells? I have a set too and they are just for show but I love the idea of having them in a "workout room" vinette!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool room! The prices, spectacular!
