I called my friend early Saturday morning and said, "There's an estate sale. I'm leaving the house now. If you want to go, be ready in 20 minutes!" Needless to say, she was ready when I got there. She was even outside shoveling snow.
ONE LONELY ESTATE SALE
There was only one estate sale in the whole area, but it took a bit of finding. Once we got there, we actually found some decent things. Here's what I brought home...a retro lampshade, an fabulous old register cover, a super cool table with an iron base, and three pieces of glass.
Three pieces of glass, you ask? Yes, it's extra special glass! See those edges? My father-in-law works with glass and says these aren't made anymore. They were often used in old medicine cabinets, which is probably what these are from.
Add to that a wheeled laundry cart, a vintage window fan, and a lined basket on a stand.
COMING UP...
I have one more 2008 Junking Weekend to cover, so that will be the next post. Then I'll be sharing how I've put a lot of this stuff to use. My problem is never what to post, but what to post first! I have so many things to share! Please come back!

Woohoo!! Miss ya! Hope you had a great Christmas!! Can't wait to see what other goodies you got!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the lined basket!! What a find!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back Amy! We've missed your posts! I love the basket on wheels, I think I would really use for laundry too. Can't wait to see your catch up posts and what you've done with the fabulous finds! Krista
ReplyDeleteI'll come back! I'll come back EVERYTIME you post!

I can't wait! My favs are the register cover and the basket on wheels. You do bring in the good stuff. When you move to Texas, I'll let you be my picker! haha ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteIf you called me to go junking, I'd be at your door picking YOU up even if it meant no time to put on underwear. What luck to find that glass! I find the cabinets, but half the time the glass is gone and it's just not the same. WOW!!! I'm going to an auction this weekend with a garden table very similar to the one you found. I'll let you know how much it costs me. LOL Debbie
ReplyDeleteI want to go junking with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Love that basket!

Great finds as usual, Amy! Fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteOoh, can't wait to see what's next and what creative plans you've got for it all! If it's okay with you, I would like to do a link to your blog either tonight or tomorrow - I'm going to be posting about several new art/craft blogs I've become captivated by over the last couple of weeks. Hope that's okay with you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine what you DO with the stuff you purchased!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen glass edges like that. Very cool!
