Memorial Day Weekend Project 5: Iron Bistro Table

Remember waaaaaaaaay further back than that...I'm talking like...errrrrm...January? Yeah, waaay back then. Cold? Snow? Well, if you're in Minnesota, that might have been last week, but I digress. It was back in January that I first posted about this table...

I picked this up from an estate sale on a cold, wintery day in January. You know if the photos were taken in the garage that it was colder than a bugger outside! Brrr! Thank goodness for summertime! Well, the warm weather also brings the opportunity for getting those long-awaited "can't-do-it-because-it's-too-cold-right-now" painting jobs done. So, finally, the transformation I've been waiting for months to complete!

I removed the wooden top, painted the base black, and added a glass round (thanks, "FFIL"...that stands for Fabulous Father-in-Law!). Here is the transformation...

I have an upcoming post that involves this transformed table and vintage vinyl records. Here are few more clues...Linda Ronstadt, ZZ Top, and Elvis. Stay tuned!

  1. Love the transformation and I love using glass topped tables for the illusion of a more open space. I have one I picked up at Goodwill for $3.
Ok, with that tease of more to come with the table and Elvis, ZZ Top, Linda Ronstadt.....curiosity has me....I'll be back (I wasn't doing an impression of the terminator...I promise):)

  2. Love what you did with your find! You did all of these projects in one long weekend?

  3. You have my attention! Show me, tell me!

  4. Cooool!
I'll stay right here as I can't wait to see what it is!!!!

    everything vintage

  5. I usually love your transformations, but honestly this one doesn't appeal to me so much. I'm not really a glass top fan, for one thing. Oh well, I'm still YOUR fan, though! Plus, I reserve the right to change my mind when you add Linda Ronstadt, ZZ Top and Elvis!

  6. Great transformation. I love it. Hugs, Marty

  7. Phooey on David! I think it's lov-e-ly!

    The Texas Woman

  8. Love the table. Can't wait to see the vintage vinyl project!

  9. I like the black. And, who is being the tease now, my friend? ~Mindy

  10. Great transformation! The glass top is such a wonderful change... yea for FFIL!!!!

  11. I felt like I had really accomplished a lot this weekend; then I come over here! Now I feel like a slug. Great job. I love the bistro table especially the legs.

  12. Left a little treat on my blog for you.

  13. I always say I can make a table out of anything and a round piece of glass. Really neat redo. xo Joan

  14. Extra comment. I painted some owls and left a link back to you as credit. Thanks for the great idea. I love those 70's owls but not the funky colors. You are a creative soul.

  15. The table looks great. I just love bistro tables.

I have a random question: Are you not doing the "followers feature" thing anymore. I notice you haven't done one in a long time, and I really like that feature. I'm always looking for new blogs to follow and it was great being introduced to new ones.

  16. Angie,

I will be doing more. I have just had a hectic schedule. I am planning to do one soon. Thanks for asking! I'm glad you like the Follower Features!
