Guest Bath Mini Makeover Reveal

Okay, well here is the not-so-big reveal of the guest bath redo. I consider it more of a mini makeover than anything else. There were no major renovations that took place this time around. Sooooo, without further ado, get ready to...

MOVE THAT MOUSE!
For the next three photos, move your mouse over the image to see the before and after!
(NOTE: If you are viewing this in a reader, you'll have to visit the post to view the effect.)

The white walls and beadboard are the AFTER photos. The blue walls are the BEFORES...

MORE PHOTOS
Here are a couple more shots in black and white...
I love how the black and white captures the many varied textures in the room.

What did we actually do?
  • BEADBOARD WALLPAPER: on clearance at Menard's...took less than one roll
  • CHAIR RAIL: a few cuts, some paint, and nailed it up
  • PAINT: Swiss Coffee from Behr, paint roller, and my trusty Purdy paint brush
  • ACCESSORIES: simply switched them out for things I already had
That's it. Nothing too earth shattering...more time than anything else. The costs were minimal but the simple details and textures created by the beadboard and chair rail add some cottage charm to the room.

Up next? Photos of some of the key accessories and details in the room.

  16. It looks awesome. I particularly love that little scale to hold soap and towelettes. If I ever would get to visit you at your cottage, you can consider that a goner, because I would so steal it in my purse. (good thing for you there is an ocean between us...)

  17. You know what Amy? Both looks in the bathroom were great, but I am a neutral fan, so the update you just did speaks to me more. Lovely results for sure, and as someone else seen, so serene. Love it! Great job once again, and you fooled me with the wallpaper. Love the scale on the back of the toilet as well as the picture you've chosen and the towel rack (which I believe I was out shopping with you when you found.) :)

  27. Knew it would look fab- well done. Take that, all you nay-sayers, thinking you need a lot of money and time to spruce up a room.

  30. Oh I really like this makeover. I particularly like the thick chair rail that you chose. That, combined with the beadboard, is gorgeous. Did you use a semi-gloss paint and did you like the Behr paint? I just used some Valspar semi-gloss to paint my woodwork, etc. after applying primer and the Valspar paint was disappointing. It wasn't very thick at all and took lots of coats. Just wondering how that compares with Behr. Thanks you for sharing this project on the Boardwalk Bragfest. I love it!
