I added a few new touches to the guest room over the past couple weeks. Specifically, a vintage sign and a vintage dresser. While we are at it, I thought I'd give you a look-see at the rest of the room and the pieces currently in it.
We have these vaulted ceilings throughout our house. In the guest bedroom, it provides this huge open space above the bed. I've never figured out what to put there...until I saw this sign at the Grand Rapids Flea Market.
This "new-to-me" vintage sign came from resort that was owned by the grandparents of one of my friends. It's size and scale make it perfect on this wall. It looks right at home to me.
This vintage advertising piece for "Land-O-Nod" mattresses is hung on the wall using an industrial piece designed to hold saw blades for sharpening.
The hand-painted tulip canvas was a Goodwill find...$10. The cabinet was found in the basement of an old rental...FREE. I yanked it out of the basement, and my parents and I stripped and restored it. The small folding luggage rack was one of the first before and after projects I ever posted on my blog almost two years ago today. (Pay no attention to need for baseboard. It is one of the many unfinished in-progress projects here at the cottage.)
This dresser is another new addition to the room. It is all metal and was found at Mustard Moon's July sale. L-O-V-E it! It looks happy here amongst my other garage sale, estate sale, occasional sale, and flea market finds. Aaaaaaah. :)
Linking up with the Layla's Guest Bedroom party at The Lettered Cottage.
Love the sign! It's all aged and chippy and perfect! The dresser is pretty sweet, too. I also like how the denim bolster pillow matches the blue in your old mattress ad. It's a great guest room!
