Crewelwork Tissue Box Cover...Sneezing with Style!

Aaaachooo! The winter season is upon us! What better time to warm up with textures and make over something that often gets overlooked in home decor...the unassuming tissue box!

I was on the verge of taking this tissue box holder to Goodwill but was inspired to try a quick makeover using a scrap of crewelwork fabric that's been waiting for a purpose. Instead of glue (which I decided is too permanent for my every-changing decor mood), I used Gorilla Tape to attach the fabric over the existing upholstered box. (See the full tutorial here!)

The fabric is left over from a pillow project that my mom helped with several years ago. I'll have to share more about the pillows and process with you. I love the fabric to this day! The colors and texture just make me happy!

The tissue box has a happy home in our "guest spa."

I'm still working on incorporating some of your suggestions to make the room even more spa-like. Since we'll be having some guest over the holiday season, it's the perfect time to do it. Of course I'll keep you updated!!

Anyone else having company for the holidays?
