Tole Chandeliers Can Be Mean: DIY Conflict Resolution

We're on step 5 of the studio makeover! Just joining us? Catch up on the whole studio makeover process. We started with the vintage medical cabinets, then added the tole chandelier, brought in a coat rack crafted from a vintage door & wire hooks, and crafted vertical storage out of vintage wire baskets and an antique ladder.

The centerpiece of the room is this vintage tole chandelier in cream, yellow, and green tones. You saw it go up here. Even from underneath, it has great details! But don't let its beauty fool you! This chandy is not so innocent! It has a sassy mean streak!

We ended up hanging it up higher than I originally had planned. Why? After it hit me in the head with those metal prongs about three times in five minutes, it was either lift it up or tear it down! :) That tole takes a toll on your head! Ouch!! Yes, I cried. DIY can be that way, y'know. It's okay now. We've worked out our differences. :)

Now, see that space behind it? Up above the closet? Something must be done! Something simple, yes, but what? Don't worry! I've got it covered! The answer coming up next!

  1. Your studio looks absolutely beautiful though :-) Hopefully hanging it higher will do the trick!

  2. It looks great. Can't wait to see the finished studio!

  3. This is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I am looking for something like this idea for my master bedroom closet/dressing room. Can't wait to see the end project all together:)

  4. With beauty comes a little pain. Now if you were like me...there'd never be a danger of hitting your head...only stumping your toe! Sometimes being short is a good thing!!!

  5. So far everything looks amazing! Can't wait to see the finished room! I've been cracked in the head a few times myself with chandeliers!

  6. I'm so glad you tamed the tole beast by raising it, it's too pretty to take down!

  7. Poor you! I cannot wait to see the finished room!

  8. I'm as anxious as everyone else to see the finshed room, you are quite the tease. :-))
