Guest Room Gets Earthy Fall Makeover

When the weather gets cooler, I always feel the need to add those oranges and earth tones to keep things feeling warm, toasty, and welcoming indoors. The thing is...I didn't spend a dime on this simple update to the guest bedroom. It was all stuff I had in the house. Some of it we've had for over 10 years, other things we've had for a few months. Somehow, it just all works together.

The summer look...

The first few photos show you the summer look in the guest bedroom.

Fresh white linens with a blue cover on the upholstered headboard.

Nestled between two industrial stools as side tables.

My two trusty Milbradt library ladders adding height and interest to the room.

Airy, white sheers at the window.

My ├╝ber-fabulous vintage greyhound sign above the bed.

Adhesive vinyl "guest suite" letters on the door.

And here is this year's fall look...

A linen headboard cover replaces the blue.

Earth-toned bedding and ivory pillow add texture and warm tones.

The deconstructed French chaise replaces a vintage metal dresser along this wall.

Burlap, linen, and worn wood.

A reclaimed barn wood mirror made by my FIL.

Are you in the fall nesting mode, too?

Happy Fall, Y'all!

  5. I am certainly in the cleaning and organizing mode. Sorta like getting the house ready for the colder days of winter, when I'll be spending more times indoors that out. I'm a warm/hot weather person.

Your room looks so cool and inviting, lovely!

  6. So happy to find your blog. Loving the fall mood decor!

  7. What a lovely seasonal transformation. Love that Chaise-longue in its deconstructed state. What a statement piece. And still and forever totally in love and jealous about your greyhound (if you ever come across another one, snap it up and ship it to me please, I'll cover the cost and then some :-) ).

  8. I love your room, changing the slipcover is a great idea, to change the whole mood! I love the bedside "tables" and lamps, and the chaise is Beautiful!
