Win a Holly Abston Original Illustration

I met a new blog friend named Holly Abston last week. Holly left a comment on my deconstructed french chaise post the other day, so I stopped by her website to visit her. When I saw her amazing illustrations, I was speechless! I love the soft colors and the vintage feel to them. From poking around her site, I found out that Holly is a mother of three and that her work has been featured in several magazines!

I contacted Holly and she sent me two of her paper doll illustrations with which to surprise my niece on her birthday last weekend. As you can see from my niece's shirt in the first photo, she loves horses, so the Pretty Girl paper doll and the Pretty Pony paper doll were perfect. Since there was a lot of craziness going on during the weekend, it wasn't conducive to concentration and detailed scissor cutting by a seven-year-old. My sister-in-law said they would have fun cutting and playing with them on a quieter day. Aunt Amy (that's me) wanted to play with them right then and there, but I guess she makes a point. :) My grandmother had a different idea. She insisted they were so beautiful and that they should be framed. I agree with that too, Grandma!

In honor of Grace's birthday and the talents of Holly Abston, Holly has agreed to do a giveaway here at WhisperWood Cottage. She has a whole slew of illustrations that she has created. Check out this circus series...

  1. Well since I have a Gabby Goo you KNOW we need these.
Miss Goo would love the Pretty Girl Doll.

I love the Sweet Cakes--I would frame that and put it in her shabby chic room. It would fit the decor so perfectly. It would be so sweet with my vintage bone china tea set I am going to pass down to her.

And I would have to consider the Girls Night Out since I am one of the girls.

Cheri from Its So Very Cheri

  2. those are awesome! i love the party for three as well as the pony paper doll. those would both per the perfect touch to emmy's new digs! :)

  3. HAHA! I love my polka dot socks and that we're getting candy!

Such fun art! Love the paper dolls! I'd probably choose sweet treats though! Super cute!

  4. So lovely! I would choose the sisters print to give to my daughter who is having her second daughter next month!

  5. WOW! She is SO talented! I saved her store in my favs! It was easy to choose a print! I have 4 sons and fell in love with the Summer boys! I would frame it and put it over my desk! I would love to have paper dolls for myself! I'm going back to look some more! Thanks! ♥

  6. Holly Abston is an amazing artist. She captures the most precious moments so beautifully in her illustrations. I would choose her illustration "Party for Three". It reminds me of my little girl Ruby who adores tea parties with her animals and babies. Very very sweet!

  7. I'm so glad your niece liked the paper dolls, Amy! Thank you for writing such a sweet blog post. I'm excited to see what the winner chooses. Have a great weekend!

  8. I LOVE Holly and have taken some of her AMAZING classes here in OKC! She is funny and sweet and beautiful and talented and I could go on and on. I adore all of her work and would love to have her "girls night out" Halloween print! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I would hang this print in my office/studio and keep it up year round, but move it to my living room when I decorate for Halloween, which is just around the corner...hint, hint! This print just makes me smile! :))

  9. So beautiful. I would chose the Oh Happy Day print for my daughter's room. She too loves to swing.

    Thank you,

  10. Congrats to the winner! I've really fallen in love with Holly's art! ♥
